Dr. (Sister) Anila Verghese is a Trustee of the ‘Society for Higher Education of Women in India’ (the Trust that runs Sophia College, Sophia Polytechnic and other institutions on Sophia Campus). She is a former Principal of Sophia College for Women, Mumbai. At present she is the Director of Sophia Polytechnic. At present, she is also the provincial superior of the Indian Province of the Society of the Sacred of Jesus to which the sisters of Sophia Campus institutions belong.
Dr. (Sr.) Anila Verghese is an historian and an authority on Hampi-Vijayanagara, the site in Karnataka where she has been doing research work since 1985, and the Vijayanagara Empire, with special focus on art and religion. She is the author or editor / co-editor of eleven monographs and books as well over 95 research papers; she also lectures/ presents papers extensively both in India and abroad on topics related to her expertise.
Dr. (Mrs.) Vidita Rakshit

Dr. (Mrs.) Vidita Rakshit is the Joint Director of Sophia Polytechnic. She is a former Vice Principal (science) of Sophia College. She has been on the local managing committee (LMC) of Sophia College for 10 years. She is also the governing body member of the Torpa rural development society for women.

She has done her Doctorate in organic chemistry and has lectured to post graduate students of University of Mumbai for over 15 years. She has also been a resource person for the selection of students to represent India at the chemistry Olympiad through the Homi Bhaba centre for science education.
